The first days: monitoring and dressings
The first 48 to 72 hours after hospital discharge are critical. A state-registered nurse visits daily to perform post-operative dressings, monitor wound healing, check for signs of infection (redness, warmth, discharge) and take vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, heart rate). Each visit produces a report sent to the attending physician.
Pain management and medication
Pain control is essential for a good recovery. The nurse ensures the prescribed analgesic protocol is followed correctly, adjusts timing in agreement with the surgeon if needed, and monitors side effects (nausea, constipation, drowsiness). If subcutaneous anticoagulant injections are prescribed to prevent thrombosis, the nurse administers them at home.
Suture and staple removal
On the date set by the surgeon, the nurse performs suture or staple removal at home, sparing you a trip to the clinic. If a drain was placed, output monitoring and removal are also carried out at home under strict aseptic conditions.
Follow-up blood tests
Some surgeries require follow-up blood tests (CBC, CRP, coagulation panel) in the days following the procedure. Our team draws the sample at home and delivers it to the accredited partner laboratory. Results are forwarded to both the surgeon and the attending physician.
Rehabilitation and early mobilisation

Coordination with the hospital team
